Leo's Ark - Chapter 6 : The Great Flood

The ark  was now completed, the supplies and animals were all loaded and the ark was ready to fulfill it's purpose and as the sun rose on the morning of the seventh day the day of judgement had come.

That morning at the palace in the city, The Duke of Weselton and his bodyguards have gotten word to Shen that animals, birds, reptiles and insects from all over the land were gathering at the plains where Leo was last spotted.
“So, they have finished the boat, you say?” Shen inquired.

“That’s right, Lord Shen,” Weselton replied.  “And they’re loading all sorts on animals, brids, reptiles and insects on it.”
“What is this crazy little fool going to do?  Open a zoo? “ Or Maybe he’ll even put on a circus.”
As one of the bodyguards laughed, the four was interrupted when two of the locals, Mr.  John Worthington Foulfellow and his partner Gideon the Cat, rushed into the palace in a state of shock.

“Lord Shen, something is happening to the sky,” said Foulfellow
“What do you mean?” Shen said in an agitated tone as he stood up.
“I think you might to come outside and see for yourself, sire,” Foulfellow replied.

Shen, Weselton and his bodyguards followed Foulfellow and Gideon outside and looked up at the sky.  The clear blue pigment and bright yellow sunlight were being blocked out by ominous grey clouds forming on the horizon.  Fear started to fill up in Lord Shen as well as his followers.

“Weselton!” Shen called out.
“Yes, my lord,” Weselton replied.

“Have everyone in the village square gathered here in ten minutes.”  Shen ran back into his palace.  A few moments later, he came out carrying his sword while he saw the entire population of the city gathered around.  He held up his blade and proclaimed, “Ladies and gentlemen, I fear as you do that something terrible is happening, and I believe the farmer Leo Noah has something to do with it.”

“We’re not safe till that maniac is dead,” Weselton added.  The people began chanting, “Kill the crazed!” as Weselton raised a spear.  Pitchforks for were also raised and torches were lit.
“It’s time for us to pay Noah a visit,” said Shen.

Back at the plains, every animal was comfortably housed in a room on the Ark and the food supplies were safely stored away.  Leo and his family were waiting on the deck patiently for the rains to come as they saw the storm clouds brewing.  Kristoff was on the roof of the ark when he spotted the angry mob from the city approaching the ark.

“Father, look!”  Kristoff called as he pointed out toward the mob.
“Looks like we got company,” said Vitaly.
“Yeah, and they don’t look very happy,” added Gia
.
Shen, Weselton and his bodyguards were the first to approach the ark.
“Leo!” Shen shouted at the top of his lungs.  “Leo, come out of that ark and face me!”
“Have you no respect for your governor?” Weselton asked in a loud tone as well.

Leo was going down to meet them when he was stopped by Kristoff and Sven. "if you are going down there father were are coming too!" he said.

"Very well Kristoff Leo said as the pets got on Sven's back as the others went back into the Ark.

Leo, Kristoff and Sven walked down the wooden loading ramp from ark and approached Shen and Weselton.  He looked at the two with distrustful eyes.

“I have much respect for you, Shen,” the lion replied.  “I have kept my distance from your city as you have commanded.  I have lived in peace with my loving family for years on our farm miles from your palace.  But you, governor, have not shown your respect for God.  You allow wickedness to thrive while turning away anything that is the Lord’s way.”

“Leo, I demand that you cease this foolishness and tell your so-called God to call off this storm.” Shen demanded.  “Think of what I can do for you and your family if you listen to and worship me.”
“I know what you have done for many others, and I know what Thrall will do to you.  I obey the word of my God.”

“Yes, yes, we know about your so-called ‘flood’, but how do you know you are not mistaken?” asked Weselton.  “For all you know, you could have been hearing things after all that work in the hot sun and on that smelly old farm.”

“I believe in the word of my God,” Leo proclaimed.  “I believe what he has told me and my family believes as well.  You have all allowed your envious, murderous, adulterous and cruel ways to condemn yourselves to a watery grave.   While I am safely on the ark with my family and all of the animals, I will pray to Thrall to forgive you, so that your souls may at least be saved now all of you return to your cites of Cain know that you have all been judged Leo said as he, Kristoff and Sven walked away.”

“You, your son and that walking coatrack won’t live long enough to make it back on that wooden boat, Leo,” Shen said angrily.  “If you won’t accept my offer, then you will die by my blade!

At that instant, a fiece wind begen to blow as the last ray of sunshine was now blocked by thick rain clouds.  Shen charged at Leo with his sword pointed forward.  Leo quickly jumped to the side and dodged the blade.  He made a grab for it as the two struggled with each other.

Weselton led a charge with the mob to attack Leo as well, but Zoe, Sunill, Vinnie, Pepper, Minka, Penny Ling, Russell, Kristoff and Sven joined the battle to aid Leo.  Using their construction tools as weapons, Kristoff, Sven and the pets fought back against the mobs’ pitchforks and torches.  Pepper uses her tail as a Pogo stick to bounce up and down to punch Weselton in a comical manner, then bit down on his nose like it was a little rubber ball and sprayed in his face with her skunk musk.  Kristoff used his powerful fists to whack the bodyguard’s spears away.  the bodyguards tried to punch Kristoff but missed. Sven then charged at both of them and threw them over his body and they landed face first in a fresh pile of mud.

As the wind continued to blow, Leo and Shen continued their struggle. Despite his size Shen was strong, angry and stubborn, but Leo’s faith in God saved him.  At that instant, lightning flashed and thunder clashed.  Rain started to pour down as everyone looked up in the sky "Sorcery! I knew there was something odd about him Weselton said shock as the rain continued to fall.

When the villagers saw the rain falling, they realized that Leo’s God was very real and very angry.  In a stage of panic, the people ran to look for cover.  Some tried to make a run for the Ark, but were blocked off by more lightning.  Leo gathered up the pets and placed them on Sven's back and Kristoff got on the reindeer and retreated safely back into the ark.

But as they were getting away Shen saw them and the Ark and got an idea as he turned to his followers  "My People Do you want to live!" The people cheered for Shen through the driving rain. "then follow me and TAKE THE ARK!" Shen roared as the villagers ran after the group Sunill screamed as the others turned and saw the mob coming after them but the Lord was with them and great fountains of water erupting from the ground blocking off the army's advance but from the door of the ark Elsa and Aurora saw that the ground was giving in right in front of the group.

"I have to go and help them!" Elsa said as she ran from the door of the ark and judging her moment she used her gift to create an ice bridge to allow the group to cross as Elsa, Leo, Kristoff, Sven and the pets ran to the ark but with the rain thundering down the ice bridge soon melted preventing any of the army from crossing the cavern between them and the ark.

No sooner were they safe and the door of the ark was shut tightly then a giant wave of water came rushing over the land.   It washed away everything in its path, including the great city.  There was nowhere for the people to hide from their impending doom, and soon they were all washed away as well.  The remaining trees of the forest toppled down from the force of heavy winds.  One of which fell on top of Shen and Weselton, thus sealing their fate as the waves completely covered them.

Only the Ark and those on board it remained.  As the giant wooden vessel floated on the harsh waves, Leo and his family did they best they could to keep the animals calm.  Many of the smaller animals were frightened with excitement while the larger animals were unfazed by the heavy rocking, pelting waves on the hull and the sound of thunder.
